Kitchen Mama Sustainability Vision

Kitchen Mama underlines a modern and ethical vision to reach across our entire value chain. We are committed to expanding existing sustainability strategies into every detail, from sourcing raw materials, manufacturing, distribution, customer care, and package waste management.

Key Focus

Kitchen Mama is driven by a commitment to responsible business practices, including sustainable packaging and social programs.

Our 2022 ambition is to strive for minimal environmental impact with a special focus on innovating sustainable packaging solutions. Kitchen Mama's sustainability management approach is moving towards the new milestone: paper packaging.

For 2022, our goal is to have all our packaging ready to be recycled. We want to use less packaging material, eliminate plastic packaging, and reduce our carbon footprint by offering fully recyclable packaging that benefits you and the place we all call home.

Taking steps to reduce plastic pollution has never been more important, especially as trash continues to build in landfills and in our oceans, harming species.

Since plastic pollution is a problem with serious consequences, we do everything we can to make sure our packaging is recyclable and compostable. Thus, we introduce Kitchen Mama’s latest step to address plastic pollution – paper packaging.

Reimagining, Rethinking, and Recycling Our Packaging

Kitchen Mama's signature kitchen tools are packed with care to prevent damage on their way to you. With our vision to promote a more sustainable future for all, Kitchen Mama has made the switch to an innovative style of packaging. It’s a step in the right direction, and one that lets you know we’re committed to a green future without sacrificing the durable protection of our products.

Kitchen Mama reduced the use of our packaging material, eliminated the plastic inner packaging, and substituted all Polypropylene (PP) packaging to an alternative material: recycled and sustainably sourced paper and cardboard. The shift from plastic to cardboard material is not easy as paper products are not as malleable as PP. PP is one of the best packaging options in terms of its lightweight design, durability, and custom-fit ability, but we made sure that the same features are available to our newly adapted paper packaging.

The use of recycled and sustainably sourced paper and cardboard for our packaging is good for the environment, but it also means that Kitchen Mama products are heavier than they would otherwise be which increases the cost of production and delivery. Shifting to sustainable packaging thus involves significant cost for Kitchen Mama. However, we are dedicated to pursuing our goal of a sustainable future with you and hope to balance environmental impacts and other tradeoffs with our paper/compostable packaging. As a company, we endeavor to lower our GHG footprint in the production and end-of life disposal phase and create emission savings.

We are committed to making a positive difference, one step at a time.
